Learn to free-motion quilt with hands-on, encouraging and personalized instruction. You CAN quilt your own quilts on your home machine with very little marking and no stencils! We’ll start on paper and make lots of mistakes there, then we’ll play on fabric samples with confidence! I use my projector to show what I’m doing so that you can see exactly how I quilt. It really is easier than you think!

Jenny K. Lyon
Jenny uses her domestic sewing machine to create quilts, art quilts and wearable art. She has been sewing since she was a little girl, trying to make her own clothes. Jenny comes from a long line of traditional bed quilt makers but didn’t take a formal class until 1983. During the time she was raising her sons she did not quilt, but re-entered quilting in 1999. And now she just can’t stop!
Jenny’s book, Free Motion Quilting, Ordinary to Extraordinary with C&T is now available. She appeared on The Quilt Show in Feb, 2019 and her work has been featured in numerous magazines. She also appeared on QATV.
Her work has been juried into the Houston Int’l Quilt Festival, several AQS shows, Road to California, Pacific International Quilt Festival and the Curitiba Quilt Show (Brazil). Her work has shown in several art galleries and SAQA exhibits and some is held in private collections.
She has been teaching the art of quilting since 2006 and teaches across the country at guilds, shops and the Houston and AQS shows.
She lives in Granite Bay, Ca (outside of Sacramento) with her long-suffering husband. Her sons have left the nest which leaves more room for quilting stuff! Jenny is happy to share her passion for free motion quilting

Meet the new shop dog, Ricky Riccar! He's just barely 3 months old and has the personality of a Rock Star. He makes me laugh all day and we are becoming best buddies. I've had him for just under 2 weeks and oh, how fun is he. Weighing in at just over 7 lbs. and he hasn't had all of his shots yet. So until he's finished the series, he will not be allowed any doggie visitors. Thanks for understanding, woof!
